http://www.googleartproject.com/ I was able to take a closer look at some pretty awesome paintings in a way that I've never been able to before. This is an hour long study from The Milkmaid of Vermeer, who I had always thought of in a similar realm as Van Eyck - Beautiful but not much beyond the obvious rendering-wise. When I zoomed in to certain areas of the painting I was delighted to see some very impressionistic techniques at use. Who'd've thunk.
